Materials: CD & player; Text; Get The Picture Name Cards

Greeting- 2 minutes
Teacher to Students- Listen & Repeat
Hello, Hi, Hey, Howdy, G’day, Good Morning, Hola, Aloha, Bon Jour, Bon Dia, Bon Journo, Ni Hao, Konnichiwa, Anyohasewo, Selamat Pagi (am) (pm-Siang), Shalom, Jambo, Asalamalekum, Zzdrastvet-yah, Namaste.

Janken Fours- Warm-up / Review / Conversation Skills Practice- 5 minutes
Blackboard-W:Say one greeting from あいさつ.
L: Listen & Repeat
Students- Pairs play Janken with 3 seat partners, do the conversation each time, then sit down.

Let’s Listen- CD track 6. Text page 8. 5 minutes.
Students- Listen, mark, check.
HRT- Play CD track 6. Check answers- (4, 3, 2, 1)

Let’s Chant- CD track #3. 10 minutes.
Blackboard- Hello. Hello. My name is Ken.
Hi! Hi! My name is Mai. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you, too!
ALT-Write chant on blackboard. Listen & Repeat before playing CD.
Students- 2nd time- together with CD.

Row Practice- 10 minutes.
Blackboard- W) Hello. My name is OO.
L) Hello. My name is BB. Nice to meet you.
W) Nice to meet you, too.
Students- In paired rows, rotating. Janken with seat partners.

GTP- Get The Picture- 10 minutes.
Blackboard- W) Hello. My name is OO. (Note- student's own name or another is OK.)
L)Hello. My name is BB. Here is my name card. Nice to meet you.
W) Nice to meet you, too.
ALT & HRT- Demonstrate with cut papers- Pairs Janken, winner starts. Loser must give one name card, any name is OK.
Students- After demo, all stand, pair and play Janken.

Wrap-Up/まとめ- 2-4 minutes
(Present common mistakes to the whole class. Write the mistaken point on the blackboard, and ask if anybody can see what is wrong.)
HRT to Students, in Japanese:
-What did we talk about today?
-Were there some words you already knew?
-Did you learn any new words?
-What was fun or interesting?
-What was difficult?
-How can we make that easier next time?

Closing- 1 minute
Students: ‘Thank you! Good bye!’
Teachers: ‘You’re welcome! Good bye!’
